Think about the whole journey

A flight and a road journey create different itineraries. Include the transfer to your departure point, airport time, luggage requirements and the final transfer to your stay when comparing them. Prices and operating schedules must be checked for your exact dates.

Build a flight backup plan

Mountain weather can change flight plans. Ask who rearranges your transfer and hotel if your arrival is delayed, what additional costs might apply, and when a road alternative would be realistic. Avoid a tight international connection after your Skardu departure.

Give road travel its own time

Long road travel is part of the trip rather than a short transfer. Discuss overnight stops, comfort breaks and your group’s tolerance for long driving days. Current conditions determine the practical route and schedule.

Confirm the vehicle and luggage space

A vehicle that seats your group may still lack space for all your bags. Tell the team about bulky luggage or trek equipment. Vehicle upgrades in the trip budget use passenger capacity to calculate how many vehicles your group needs.

Ask for a dated proposal

Air tickets can change price quickly. Flights marked on request are not included in a complete total until the team provides a fare and validity window. Confirm luggage allowances and refund conditions with the ticket provider.
