Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Skardu
Fly from Islamabad to Skardu (if weather allows) or travel via road. Airport pickup and transfer to hotel. Rest and explore the local market.
Day 2: Skardu City Tour
Visit Satpara Lake (ideal for boating and fishing) and the historic Manthal Buddha Rock – a carved image dating back to ancient Buddhism in the region.
Day 3: Shigar & Khaplu Valley Excursion
Explore Shigar Fort and the beautiful Shigar Valley. Continue toward Khaplu, known for its historic palace and mosque, surrounded by the majestic Karakoram peaks.
Day 4: Kachura Lakes
Visit both Lower and Upper Kachura Lakes. Enjoy lunch at the Shangrila Resort. Optional activities: nature walk, boat ride, or trout fishing.
Day 5: Free Day
Relax at the hotel or shop for local handicrafts. Optional activities include visiting Skardu Bazaar or exploring Hargisa Stream.
Day 6: Deosai National Park Adventure
Visit the world’s second-highest plateau, Deosai Plains. See wildflowers, brown bears (from a distance), and Sheosar Lake. Picnic lunch at Deosai.
Day 7: Return to Islamabad
Departure via flight or road back to Islamabad.
